Every family lives differently, and every property asks for something different. Before I recommend any kind of intervention, I need to understand both.
The Discovery Call™ is simply our first conversation. We talk about what you are considering, the property, your timing and whether the project is something I can genuinely help with. Just as importantly, it gives us both the opportunity to see whether we feel comfortable working together.
After the call, I review whether the project is a good fit. Only then do I offer the Home Diagnostic Visit™, which is booked and paid in advance.

How we begin
1 · Discovery Call™ — 20–30 minutes
A 20–30 minute structured conversation to understand the essential project situation, property, timing and availability. I use the call for initial qualification only; I do not diagnose the home, make design recommendations or provide professional work.
2 · Professional Discovery — Barcelona · €650 + VAT · Costa Brava · €900 + VAT
If, after the call, I consider the project a good fit, I will offer the Home Diagnostic Visit™. It is booked and paid in advance. Only after payment has been received do I send the Client Discovery Questionnaire™ and request the relevant property documentation.
This is a separate professional service and is not deducted from future project fees.
I review the questionnaire and documentation before the visit so that our time in the property can be used properly and, where appropriate, I can identify whether another professional may need to be involved.
3 · Home Diagnostic Visit™
We meet in the property.
This is where I can connect what you have told me with the home itself: how your family actually lives, what matters most to you, what already works, what does not, and what opportunities or constraints the property presents.
Before I recommend anything, I need to understand both the family and the property.
4 · Professional Recommendation
Only after the Client Discovery Questionnaire™, the documentation and the visit do I determine the type and level of intervention the home needs.
My recommendation is based on what I have actually learned about you and the property — not on assumptions made during a short introductory call.
5 · Project Proposal & Investment Plan™
I then prepare the appropriate proposal for Christina Rius Homes™, setting out the recommended scope, my professional fees and the framework for the project.
Costs relating to architects, contractors, joinery, installations, permits or other third parties are separate and are assessed by the relevant professionals when required.
6 · Engagement & Project Start
If you decide to proceed, we sign the Letter of Engagement™ and the first project payment is made.
The project payment schedule is 60% / 30% / 10%.
Then the design work begins.
Home Diagnostic Visit™
Good recommendations require more than an introductory conversation. They require a deeper understanding of both the family and the property.
After the Discovery Call™ and my review of whether the project is a good fit, the Home Diagnostic Visit™ is the first paid professional stage. It is booked and paid in advance. Once payment has been received, I send the Client Discovery Questionnaire™ and request the relevant property documentation.
Together with the Client Discovery Questionnaire™, the documentation you provide and the time we spend in the property, it gives me the information I need to understand what the home actually requires before proposing a project.

The Home Diagnostic Visit™ forms part of the first phase of The Home Identity Method™. It brings together what I have learned about your family with a professional reading of the property, so the recommendation is not based on assumptions made during a short introductory call.
After the visit, you receive a Home Diagnostic Report™ bringing together the priorities identified, the professional assessment of the home and the recommended path forward.

When the home needs the right decisions rather than a comprehensive transformation.
Not every property needs a comprehensive transformation.
Sometimes the difference comes from getting the layout, furniture, lighting, colour, materials and textiles to work together — and making those choices around the way the family actually lives.
Existing pieces can be incorporated when they make sense. For rented homes or families whose circumstances may change, I can also consider which choices can move with them or continue to work later.
Selected international projects may be undertaken remotely when reliable plans, measurements, information and logistics make that possible.

I lead the interior design direction and work alongside the architect, contractor and other professionals required by the project, each within their own area of responsibility.
The objective is not simply to transform a property. It is to make the whole home work for the people who are going to live in it.

The exact scope is defined for each project because I only want to take responsibility for what I can genuinely manage well.
